Far away from home and wish I could go back in a glimpse of an eye …..
So I did what I could do – I cooked a dish I have always love best – Kai See Hor Fun and Nga Choy.
Smooth ‘hor fun’ in a warmth and delicious broth, chicken shreds and fresh prawns, crispy bean-sprouts in garlic oil and soya sauce – yes, they did soothed my melancholy heart……
My husband and children loved these as much as I did. So delicious that we ate them up to the last drop.
What do you do when you feel homesick on a Sunday?

Hi Ipohgal, home-cooked Ipoh Kai See Hor Fun, Ngai Choi for the family is the best cure from homesickness. When your children are grown-up and remember Mum’s favorite dishes would think of Mum and happy memories many years later. Grasp the moments to store in the thumbdrive of your happy life. Memories is the best remedy for homesickness…
Hi James,
Yes, you’re right – that is why I always love to cook and eat with my kids, the happy memories will stay with them for a long long time. 🙂
You are a wonderful cook. My mum did this occasionally too. It would be good if you can import some Ipoh bean sprout – the long, fat and juicy bean sprout is best to eat with kai see hor fun.
Hi Andrew,
Thank you, thank you! One can easily find Ipoh hor fun in Pudu wet market but so far, I could not find anyone selling the famous bean sprouts in KL.
Luckily you blogged after finishing to the last drop.
Otherwise, you’ll find many people (including me) queue up in front of your house during makan time.
Hi 16LeechStreet,
Help, I am not a noodle seller, hahaha! 🙂
