Nobody make this kind of windows anymore these days.
Some of these windows are lucky to be given a new coat of painting while others were just left to the whim and fancy of the natural elements, waiting patiently for their demise. They were taken during my recent trip back to Ipoh.
Can you guess which part of town these beauties could be found?
Looks familiar. Concubine street? I hope the Ipoh government will do something about this – preserving them for our future generation.
Hi Andrew,
Almost there! Yes, these windows are common features in most pre-war shops along Leech Street, Belfield Street and Concubine Lane. I doubt the local council have an eye for such cultural relics, given their records. 😦
Beautiful windows. They are from our beloved Ipoh city?
Hi Barb,
Where else but Ipoh although there are some similar ones in Penang and Singapore! 🙂 These beauties could be gone anytime. 😦
